The word “supercar” has been around for a long time. It’s been claimed to have originated to describe cars from as far back as 1920, for the Ensign Six to 1966, with the introduction of the Lamborghini Miura. The Bugatti Type 35 could definitely be argued to have been one of the first. And today, in Matt Farah’s One Take series, he takes a very exact copy of the Type 35 out for a spin.
In this video is the 1927 Bugatti Type 35 Grand Prix Racer, built by Pur Sang Argentina. You might have seen another Pur Sang Type 35 here on HOONART previously, in the article about Amelia Island Cars & Coffee. Some of the images from that article can be seen below. These cars are very small in person. It seemed to be about 2/3 the size that one would imagine it to be.
